Today consider the following Scripture as we understand the impact of Christ’s resurrection:
Acts 2: 36-39 (NIV)
“Therefore let all Israel be assured of this: God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Messiah.” When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and the other apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?” Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off—for all whom the Lord our God will call.”
Christ fulfilled a promise, calling us to repentance and providing a way for each of us.
It is truly mysterious and defies “rational law”. We cannot explain the ways of God with logic. We recognize Jesus the Mystery:
Morning Questions:
When you read Acts 2:36-39, do you see yourself as part of this community of believers? Is there a call to action for you within this understanding? What would it be? What would it require of you?
Evening Questions:
Knowing Jesus’ return is imminent, and rather mysterious, how does this impact the way you live your life today? Does it? Should it? How?
